I went back to vietnam last month, and it was such a great trip ever since i left vietnam in October 4th 1997 . So much changes, i couldnt recognize almost everything i thought i would never forget. I guess it a good thing, I found out Vietnam has so many beautiful places i haven't been to, I went to Cantho, Vung tau, Dalat, Nha trang, Ha noi, Halong, Hue, Danang, Hoi An. I'm sure there will be the 2nd trip to g… Continue
Bad news first. I didn't get the job at Michaels. Oh well. That's that. For the explanation, take a wonderful dive down to my Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/nainaismiles) and click the blog "It's July 4th" or something like that. I don't remember. Haha.
Nonetheless, I've recently escaped from a mental trap of my own. But what's stupid is I keep crawling back to the pit that I climbed out. Metaphorically speaking, of course. I don't know; perhaps it's the comfort of the hole, the high walls tha… Continue

Hiya, folks!
My blogs are usually set on private to avoid the excessive sight of the link to my name on the front page. :) So, if you haven't noticed my updates, going to my page and hitting "archives" will get you somewhere. Unless they're diary-setting. But then again, who reads my blogs, anyways, right? Haha. I'd be vain enough to think so. :D
I am currently 19 years old now! :D Yeah, well for about a month, I have been! I was successfully interviewed and am set to start working at Michael'… Continue

This weekend changed a bit of my perspective towards, well, people.
My friend was going through tough times and had to escape the mental trap. I'm glad he talked to me, for I would have never known all those events that happened in his life.
I've finally accepted what was coming to me. So much resistance, but I admit, I can focus on my future if I drop it completely. :) Continue

"Are you waiting?"
"Yeah. Do you care?"
"Not at all. It's up to you."
"Oh."
It's up to you. You make the choice, you don't be a useless, stationary object, waiting for someone to do it for you.
What'll it be? A nice cold dish of avoidance, or will there be a neverending buffet line?
I think I chose the buffet.
It's just a matter of getting to the end where the pudding's lies on a gleaming, silver platter and hoping that it doesn't vanish after the hundreds of people crowd around it.
There a… Continue

It's been a little over two weeks since I got to Korea. Quite true to my life, the two weeks haven't been particularly eventful. The first two weekends were so cold I didn't feel like going exploring, and this third weekend I'm trying to download movies so I have something to do on the weekdays since I don't have internet at home. I did go exploring yesterday, but my legs are so sore today I can't walk much.
I haven't met a single person yet, but that was expected. I meet people slowly, so mayb… Continue
They say, "be natural", they say "be yourself", they say "don't worry about what others think!" Well, if I didn't worry about what others think -- wouldn't I be worrying about what you'd think about me worrying about what others think? Uh-huh. You can never escape "worrying about what others think". Simply because unless you live in solitude, you will always be interacting with somebody.
Let's glance at this "be yourself" tirade most people are guilty of spouting out. How come "be… Continue

I took one picture, and it was of Koy. Haha. I was going to take more, but I was too busy trying to not to fall flat on my face, which I did. It's okay, though. For the first time on roller skates, I wasn't too bad. Hahaha. Although, I have roller bladed before -- not the same thing!! Totally different. Haha....
It's pretty hard to get started, but I gradually gained the speed... really, really cool just to be skating around and around and around... sounds boring in words, but when you d… Continue

Because it randomly skips in the middle of the song, try this ah, other file. Sorry, people who can't see it -- namely Dustin! Haha.. Remember Space Jam with Michael Jordan? Apparently, this is the song for this movie.

today i read the article on the nytimes regarding the death of the 4000th soldier in iraq. i, being the creepy morbid person that i am, read the article and looked at all the pictures of men who were my age, younger or older. i saw these pictures of beautiful men who had wife and/or children at home, pictures of these men who had their whole lives ahead of them. reading this article still makes me question why our boys (LITERALLY, BOYS) are still fighting in a war where they are merely trying to… Continue
